Thurston Foods, Inc. began on October 22, 1947. TFI operated as a frozen food locker plant, renting lockers in a zero degree room for the purpose of storing frozen food. In addition we sold wholesale cuts of meats to store in those lockers.

Below is a pre-Thurston Foods photo of William Thurston (far right) delivering ice to Martin Halagian Confectionary in Naugatuck, CT in December of 1911.  William was the inspiration for his 3 boys Bill, Doug and Jack who officially began Thurston Foods in 1947 when they returned home from WW-II

Today Thurston Foods, Inc. is a full line, full service  distributor and bakery supplier. Our product line ranges from fresh meats, frozen, grocery and fresh produce, paper, disposables, cleaning supplies, equipment and smallwares.  We inventory over 15,000 different Items

Our Service area is all of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island and also parts of New York, New Jersey, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire
